Oncology Pharmacy Specialist

A registered pharmacy technician plays a vital role in the oncology department at Moffitt Cancer Center, supporting the licensed pharmacist in various tasks and duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy operations, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Initiate or receive communications with patients, providers, and team members to facilitate patient care for refill authorization requests, appointment reviews, medical records reviews, and insurance authorization reviews.
- Process prescriptions, including investigational medications used in clinical trials, in compliance with policies and procedures set forth by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
- Assist with compounding, preparation, and distribution of pharmaceutical and investigational medications following USP standards and hospital policy.
- Maintain records and create reports required by law, and process documents required by the hospital.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or experience qualifying for licensure as outlined in Florida Statutes, Section
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) licensure
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) with a minimum of 2 years' experience in each of the following: unit dose, pharmacy orders and inventory computer systems, and/or investigational or REMS medication management, pharmacy automation software systems, equipment, and electronic health records, and preparation of sterile intravenous medications.
