About the Role:

The Financial Partner serves as a vital strategic collaborator, leveraging financial modeling, forecasting, and trend analysis to deliver insights and support to various schools and departments. This role involves conducting strategic evaluations related to budget management and directly assisting school leaders and department heads in financial planning and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly budget status reports for schools and departments, offering support to identify potential issues.
  • Utilize analytical methods to address complex challenges, directing research methodologies and analyzing data to improve district operations.
  • Maintain open communication with internal and external stakeholders, presenting data and recommendations to highlight areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with functional experts, fostering teamwork and mentorship among involved resources.
  • Guide department leaders and school administrators in implementing a comprehensive financial model.
  • Engage with school and administrative staff to enhance community involvement in the budgeting process.
  • Facilitate regular discussions regarding the financial status of departments or schools, addressing upcoming goals and spending needs.
  • Provide training to administrative staff on financial review preparations, budget transfers, and proper fund management.
  • Develop training materials for presentations to staff during critical fiscal periods.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, accounting, or finance, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in budgeting, accounting, and data analysis, preferably in a governmental context.
  • Experience in delivering training to diverse employee groups.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and macros; familiarity with Google Sheets is advantageous.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Commitment to equity and educational excellence, working to dismantle systems of oppression.
  • Willingness to work in a diverse and multicultural environment.
