Behavioral Health Therapist IV

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Therapist IV to join our team at Inova Schar Cancer. As a key member of our Life with Cancer program, you will provide direct clinical therapeutic services to oncology patients, serve as a clinical leader, and collaborate closely with our Clinical Director.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advanced clinical expertise in therapeutic services, psychoeducational programming, and behavioral interventions to assist patients and caregivers in achieving progress towards their goals and objectives related to oncology-focused clinical issues.
- Assess and diagnose mental health and/or substance use disorders through bio/psycho/social department-specific and evidence-based assessments, identifying patient and family goals and needs.
- Practice within the Code of Ethics of the credentialing discipline and participate in staff meetings and professional committees as assigned.
- Engage in research and contribute to the specialty field of program/department/unit through the development/participation of research protocols, abstract writing, and publications when identified and appropriate.
- Serve as a clinical leader by providing clinical supervision to team members seeking licensure and supervision/mentoring of graduate students during clinical internships.
- Five (5) years' experience in Behavioral Health, with oncology experience preferred.
- Experience in mental health/substance use disorders, psychoeducational programming, and brief, targeted, evidence-based interventions.
- Demonstrated success as a clinical supervisor.
- Master's Degree - Behavioral Science and Health, or Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in mental health, social work, counseling, psychology, or behavioral health-related field.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association, Crisis Prevention Institute, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and Training in CBT and one or more of ADEC, EBSR, ACT, CBT-I, Sexual Health.
- Licensure: Licensed Mental Health Specialist - Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), PhD or PsychD Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP).
