Overview:

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is dedicated to providing exceptional care for individuals facing challenges with substance use disorders, particularly Opioid Use Disorder and Stimulant Use Disorder. Our focus also includes those requiring Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply nursing expertise and skills to ensure the safe delivery of fundamental preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care for assigned patients, as demonstrated by documentation and positive patient outcomes.
  • Execute independent nursing tasks following established protocols, policies, and standards, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing.
  • Administer medications with precision, monitoring patient responses, and documenting in the medical records to ensure safety and efficacy.
  • Facilitate effective communication among patients, staff, and physicians, as evidenced by thorough documentation and feedback from clients and the healthcare team.
  • Manage client admissions and maintain accurate narcotics counts.
  • Complete prior authorizations and conduct MAR audits to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in maintaining effective communication with patients, reflected in their care plans, and provide comprehensive shift reports with relevant patient information.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care, as indicated by feedback from various departments.
  • Handle telephone inquiries and other communications to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination.

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN licensure in the state of MN.
  • Thorough understanding of MN Statutes pertaining to services for the populations served by NBHN.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Familiarity with Procentive and Electronic Health Record Systems is preferred.
