Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Connecticut Children's. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to families in our ambulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and education to patients and families in accordance with professional nursing standards and Connecticut Children's policies.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to prioritize patient care and facilitate the flow of patients within the clinical practice.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment, providing timely interventions and adjustments as needed.
  • Document all pertinent aspects of care, including patient status, family adjustment, and unexpected events or changes in patient condition.
  • Delegate aspects of care to peers and ancillary personnel to meet patient needs, serving as a resource and advocate for families.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients, families, and peers to promote healthier outcomes and follow established protocols for pain management.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness in all interactions with patients and families.
  • Support the mission, values, and goals of Connecticut Children's through behaviors that align with our STANDARDS.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of ASN/ADN required upon hire; BSN preferred. If ASN/ADN, must acquire BSN within 3 years of hire.
  • Current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse licensure required for MA RNs working in or speaking to patients in the State of Connecticut must also obtain and maintain a State of Massachusetts License.
  • Current State of Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure required and maintained thereafter.
  • BLS/CPR for Providers from American Heart Association, or American Red Cross, preferred upon hire and required within 1 month of hire. Must remain current at all times.
