Join BluePearl's Cardiology Department as a Veterinary Technician

BluePearl Emergency + Specialty Pet Hospital is seeking experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work in our Cardiology department. As a Veterinary Technician in our Cardiology department, you will have the opportunity to work alongside talented veterinary professionals and utilize your skills to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Start appointments and take a full patient history, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including proper positioning of patients.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, and alert the veterinarian to changes and issues.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Properly calculate medical math, including constant rate infusions, and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment for procedures.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and training other coworkers.
  • Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
