About the Role

Amazon is seeking an experienced Geospatial Modeling Expert to join our geospatial science team. This role involves developing and implementing machine learning models that drive business decisions, particularly in the area of transportation science.

Salary Range: $136,000 - $222,200 per year, depending on location.

Job Description

As a Geospatial Modeling Expert, you will work closely with our transportation science team to develop and implement machine learning models that improve time estimation, GPS trajectory learning, and sensor fusion from phone data. You will analyze and interpret large datasets to identify trends and patterns, present research results to stakeholders, and collaborate with SDEs to implement models in production.

Main Responsibilities:

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience building models for business applications
  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages
  • Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, and high-performance computing
Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome candidates with:

  • Experience using Unix/Linux
  • Professional software development experience
