This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies for a GS-13 Security Specialist with Naval Systems Management Activity (NSMA). The selected candidate will be responsible for protecting the technology/program and ensuring that program cost, schedule, and performance meet the thresholds of the approved security architecture.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate security threats.
- Provide guidance on implementing security policy at contractor/government facilities and review physical security documentation.
- Conduct site surveys and physical security accreditations to ensure compliance with security regulations.
- Determine access eligibility determinations in accordance with the Navy Security Clearance and Access Nominations Process.
- Conduct security briefings, including indoctrinations, debriefings, annual refresher training, and foreign travel briefings.
- Review documentation required for classified information systems in accordance with current security regulations.
- Coordinate with the Authorizing Official to obtain and maintain current Approval to Operate.
A complete resume is required. Your resume must show relevant experience, job title, duties, and accomplishments. Your resume must show complete information for each job entry to support minimum qualifications.
The selected candidate must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Leading compliance inspections for Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Leading investigations of security incidents, including reporting and documenting findings in accordance with policy and recommending corrective actions.
- Assessing security problems, including analyzing alternatives, recommending solutions, and providing expert technical advice and security direction and guidance to audiences at all levels.
- Working with SAPF/SCIF physical security standards, industrial security, information security, operations security, and personnel security.
- Applying proficient oral and written communication skills to communicate with managers and with civilian and military contacts across the DoD and other agencies.
- Writing and reviewing security policy.
- Conducting briefings and communicating security guidance to high-level audiences.
