Position Summary

We are seeking an entry to mid-level professional with a solid background in 3D modeling and graphic design to fill the role of Synthetic Environment Designer. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop and enhance skills related to the design, development, production, and implementation of aircraft simulation content. You will collaborate with seasoned professionals to learn and apply our production methodologies for geospatial imagery, 3D models, elevation data, and terrain data. A resourceful mindset and the ability to learn quickly are essential, as is the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage source data pertinent to the design and review of Synthetic Environments.
  • Utilize various software tools for visual database processing and construction.
  • Process geospatial imagery for multiple viewing perspectives and construct detailed 3D models.
  • Support both internal and client reviews of visual databases, adhering to quality standards.
  • Maintain regular communication with team members regarding project dependencies and schedules.
  • Follow detailed instructions and collaborate closely with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Develop solutions for a range of problems, following established procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role does not include supervisory duties.

Experience Requirements

Entry Level: 0 to 4 Years
Mid Level: 4 to 7 Years
Senior Level: 7 to 10 Years

  • A portfolio showcasing expertise in 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering.
  • Experience with 3D software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, or Blender.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of GIS concepts and data formats.
  • Preferred experience with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS is advantageous.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in 3D Modeling, Graphic Design, or a related field.

Employment Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Must comply with drug-free workplace policies.

Physical Requirements

Work typically involves sitting at a desk, with occasional standing, walking, and the use of computer terminals.

Work Environment

The role is primarily office-based, characterized by a collaborative atmosphere with moderate noise levels. Teamwork and cooperation are essential for success in this position.
