AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Signal Engineer to join our World Class Rail Team in Miami, Florida. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing train control systems, including Communication Based Train Control (CBTC), Positive Train Control (PTC), Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), Automatic Train Protection (ATP), Automatic Train Operation (ATO), Solid State Interlocking (SSI), Cab Signaling, Digital Track Circuit Systems, and conventional block signaling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement train control systems, including CBTC, PTC, ATS, ATP, ATO, SSI, Cab Signaling, Digital Track Circuit Systems, and conventional block signaling systems.
  • Design and develop control lines, route and aspect charts, and other related documents.
  • Develop and review design plans and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate project designs with other disciplines, including attendance at project meetings.
  • Review shop drawings, record changes, and communicate directly with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives as required.
  • Prepare construction estimates and engineering budgets.
Requirements
  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional Engineering license (NY, NJ, MA, FLA).
  • 10 years of experience in the design, construction, testing, and commissioning of Train Control Systems and Equipment with an Engineering Firm, Transit Authority, or Signaling Equipment Manufacturer.
  • Experience with train control systems for one or more of the following: commuter rail, subway, freight, light rail systems, and street car systems.
  • Experience managing/lead designer for signal projects from the conceptual design through to final commissioning.
