Position Overview:

The Quality Control Technician plays a vital role in operational support, ensuring quality assurance, interdepartmental collaboration, and compliance with environmental health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts Quality Control (QC) evaluations on all necessary raw materials, processes, finished goods, and waste samples.
  • Maintains organized records for sample retention and quality documentation, ensuring proper disposal when required.
  • Prepares necessary reagents and standards, calibrates equipment, and addresses any instrument issues as they arise.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on all laboratory instruments.
  • Analyzes results, documents findings, and inputs data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Collects water samples for analysis and compiles information for regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures LIMS is updated with accurate data entries.
  • Manages inventory levels of laboratory supplies and reagents.
  • Engages in EHS tasks, including inspections and audits, participating in hazard assessments, suggesting safety enhancements, completing safety-related assignments, and fulfilling required training.
  • Undertakes additional tasks as assigned by the leadership team to achieve organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a scientific discipline preferred, or a High School Diploma/GED with 3-5 years of relevant industrial experience.

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; basic mathematical skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Must possess adequate hearing and olfactory senses and be capable of using a demand-style respirator.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
