We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse II to join our team at the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). As a LPN II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional nursing care and oversight to individuals with developmental disabilities in community settings.
Key Responsibilities- Implement individual health care plans, including charting vital signs, applying medical dressings, and administering medications as prescribed.
- Assist with daily maintenance, personal care, and other support services outlined in the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
- Initiate referrals for needed medical services, including scheduling, hospital safeguarding, advocacy, and follow-up care.
- Communicate health issues to staff and update individuals' families/guardians on hospitalizations, rehabilitation support, and other medical concerns.
- Order medications and maintain medical supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Initiate emergency medical procedures, including basic first aid techniques and CPR.
- Current, active license to practice as an LPN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
- Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain respectful, caring, tolerant, ethical, and empowering relationships with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Capacity to assist/lift individuals with physical disabilities and/or limited mobility.
- Knowledge of standard nursing policies, procedures, methods, and techniques.
- Capacity to maintain accurate records and exercise discretion in handling confidential information.
