About the Role

The Walsh Group is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective site-specific EHS plans, ensuring compliance with corporate, divisional, and regional EHS programs and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Project Managers and the management team to develop and implement EHS plans, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate subcontractor EHS protocols, including vendors and owner personnel working on company projects.
  • Plan and coordinate work to eliminate hazards, minimize risks, and aggressively manage losses involving injuries or property damages.
  • Conduct quarterly comprehensive on-site EHS audits and inspect project sites, equipment, and processes for compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct accident investigations and complete incident reporting for Project Management review.
  • Advises Project Management on Industrial Hygiene protocols and performs Environmental Monitoring.
  • Manage Company's Drug-Free Workplace Policy, ensuring proper testing for Pre-Employment, Vehicle Authorization, Reasonable Suspicion, Post-Accident, Random, and Follow-Up.
  • Provide training and education to Company personnel regarding EHS requirements, including coordination of new hire EHS orientation programs.
  • Administer the corporate SPAT process on assigned projects.
  • Complete and provide a weekly EHS update to EHS Leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management or equivalent.
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction EHS field.
  • Excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards as well as hazard recognition and injury management skills.
  • Some travel required.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and/or climb stairs or ladders.
