Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. This is a full-time position working 6:30am-7pm, with call required. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of Ortho experience and 1+ year of Hospital experience.

Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technologist will provide proficient perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. This role will function as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and efficient care to patients, staff, and visitors
  • Verify functioning and adequate availability of supplies, instruments, and equipment prior to surgical procedures
  • Apply principles of asepsis to provide optimal patient care in the OR
  • Support readiness and flow of cases to facilitate overall functioning of the unit
  • Act as a role model and resource for other staff
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
  • Certified in Basic Life Support and current Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • 1+ year of Hospital experience and 3-5+ years of Ortho experience preferred
