Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist II to join our team at Houston Methodist. This role is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic radiology procedures, including X-ray and fluoroscopy exams, to help diagnose and treat patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiology procedures, including X-ray and fluoroscopy exams, to help diagnose and treat patients.
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level.
  • Follow safety standards and conduct all imaging procedures accordingly.
  • Identify opportunities for corrective action and process improvement, providing recommendations to meet department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
  • Three years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • ARRT-R - Radiologic Technologist - Radiographer (ARRT) certification.
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.

  • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The individual must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.

This role requires standing for long periods, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The individual must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.

This role requires working in a hospital setting, with exposure to patients with various medical conditions. The individual must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
