Position Overview

The Construction Project Coordinator (CPC) is responsible for managing and coordinating all necessary resources throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that the Owner's/Company's expectations and budgetary guidelines are consistently met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and communicate effectively with field supervision, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate adherence to the project schedule.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Project Coordinator and Field Managers to achieve project objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and the project team.
  • Oversee multiple projects based on their size, complexity, and type.
  • Assess team performance and identify training needs, providing mentorship and coaching as necessary.
  • Adhere to the Company Standard Operating Procedures and exemplify leadership.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment.

Project Initiation

  • Review the contract agreement and final scope of work to familiarize yourself with the project's terms and conditions.
  • Examine all project drawings to gain a comprehensive understanding of the work.
  • Request access to project management tools from the General Contractor/client.
  • Ensure all required documentation is submitted to the General Contractor prior to the project start date.
  • Review project schedules and inform management of start dates.
  • Discuss phasing and logistics plans with the Project Manager and Field Managers.
  • Request all necessary submittals and samples.
  • Create comprehensive job binders for each project, including approved submittals and safety information.
  • Schedule and conduct kickoff meetings with Field Managers and Crew Leaders.

Ongoing Project Management

  • Ensure proper attendance at all subcontractor job meetings and attend as necessary.
  • Manage project logs and review them with the Project Accountant weekly.
  • Conduct weekly project team meetings to assess job status, cost forecasts, and schedules.
  • Follow company procedures for any change order work that needs to be performed.
  • Input material invoices weekly and notify management of any discrepancies.
  • Review job schedules regularly and inform management of any issues.
  • Conduct site visits at least weekly to assess work quality.
  • Assist the Field Manager in resolving critical issues that may impact quality, cost, or schedule.
  • Maintain strong relationships with general contractor staff and other trades involved.
  • Oversee safety and the management of materials/tools on job sites.

Project Completion

  • Distribute punch lists and follow up to ensure timely completion of outstanding work.
  • Request submission of maintenance and warranty documentation to the client.

Financial Oversight

  • Ensure timely completion of requisitions to maintain project schedules.
  • Review all requisitions for accuracy before distribution to the General Contractor.
  • Meet weekly with the CFO to review cost reports and make necessary budget adjustments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to navigate job sites, including climbing ladders and traversing uneven surfaces.
  • Capability to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings and while performing computer work.
  • Must provide personal transportation to job sites.
