Key Responsibilities:

  1. Instructional Delivery: Design, prepare, and execute lessons while facilitating student learning. Evaluate student performance at various educational levels.
  2. Classroom Oversight: Adhere to the assigned teaching schedule, maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades, ensure a safe and organized learning environment, and provide opportunities for student feedback.
  3. Collaborative Engagement: Actively participate in the instructional team’s activities, including planning, development, scheduling, and budgeting, while fostering a cooperative and professional atmosphere.
  4. Student Mentorship: Offer guidance and support to students, serving as a mentor and role model to help them achieve their educational and career aspirations.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. A minimum of three (3) years of certified full-time experience as a jail officer (or at least 6,000 hours).
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with diverse populations.
  4. Competence in using technology and applications that enhance teaching and learning.
  5. A commitment to an educational philosophy that prioritizes student learning in course design, delivery, and assessment.
