About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Del Sol Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of disease in humans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Medical Director, performs a variety of technical procedures, including selecting and operating equipment, selecting proper technical factors on an individual patient basis, and assisting in equipment calibration and radioisotope assay operation.
  • Performs clerical tasks, including inputting and editing exams, and completing requisitions prior to sending studies to radiologists.
  • Assists physicians in the performance of examinations by preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients under the direction of a licensed physician.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness, including provision for the contamination-free condition of rooms, equipment, and personnel.
Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent in Radiology Technology preferred.
  • Texas Medical Board-MRT license required.
  • At least one year of full-time experience in clinical Nuclear Medicine imaging, including didactic experience, preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and Nuclear Medicine techniques.
  • Knowledge of radio-pharmaceutical storage, radiation protection, and related concepts.
  • Knowledge of blood specimen testing techniques.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment with patients during Nuclear Medicine procedures.
  • Ability to position patients and adjust equipment to produce desired scanning images.
