About the Role

Carmello's is seeking a charismatic and energetic Host/Hostess to join our team at Monza and Carmello's. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will be responsible for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Welcome and Farewell: Professionally greet and bid farewell to guests, ensuring a positive first and last impression.
  • Reservation Management: Utilize the OpenTable reservation system to take reservations, assign servers to tables, and manage walk-ins.
  • Phone and Communication: Answer phone calls using proper procedures and communicate effectively with guests and staff.
  • Business Management: Determine the level of business to decide whether to accommodate walk-in guests without reservations.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of the foyer, host stand, and restrooms, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Coat Check and Table Setup: Check guests' coats during colder months and re-stage tables with polished silverware, menus, and information about specials.
  • Adherence to Dress Code: Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to strict dress code regulations.
Requirements
  • Restaurant Experience: While preferred, restaurant experience is not required for this role.
  • Flexibility and Reliability: Must be able to work in hot and cold environments, be punctual, and reliable.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to follow directions and communicate effectively with guests and staff.
  • Availability: Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
