The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Master Diesel Technician to join our team on the second shift at our headquarters in Canton. This position offers an exciting opportunity to maintain and ensure the optimal performance of our extensive fleet of diesel trucks and specialized car-hauling trailers.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of diesel trucks (Peterbilt, Freightliner, Western Star, Volvo, Kenworth) and custom car-hauling trailers in accordance with factory and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Oversee and manage preventative maintenance schedules for equipment as needed.
  • Effectively manage repairs and work orders, communicating timeframes, expectations, and any issues to drivers, shop managers, and leadership.
  • Proactively identify potential equipment issues on tractors and trailers that could lead to safety hazards or downtime.
  • Maintain a strong focus on time management and completing routine maintenance within allotted timeframes.
  • Ensure all tractors and trailers are maintained to Reliable Carriers and Federal CSA standards.
  • Cultivate a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.

Your Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership/journeyman experience in diesel truck repair, heavy-duty maintenance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Industry technical certifications are highly valued (SAE or state certification is a plus).
  • A degree in Diesel Technology is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to effectively manage a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
