Qualifications:
Education and Certifications:

  1. Current RN license in Maine or eligibility through the Nursing License Compact.
  2. Annual CPR certification; Biannual ACLS and PALS; TNCC every four years, ENPC encouraged.
  3. Certification as an Emergency Nurse is preferred.
  4. Evidence of ongoing education in emergency or critical care nursing.
Experience:
  1. Demonstrated proficiency in medication administration.
  2. Experience in nursing processes: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  3. Preferred experience in emergency or critical care/telemetry nursing, including charge nurse experience.
Special Skills:
  1. Proficient IV skills.
  2. Basic computer skills with familiarity in computerized charting and monitoring systems.
  3. Expertise in cardiac monitoring and ACLS provision for all age groups.
  4. Competence in trauma care for patients of all ages.
Cognitive Skills:
  1. Emotional maturity and strong interpersonal skills.
  2. Able to process and apply clinical information in various settings.
  3. Ability to synthesize complex clinical data and communicate effectively with medical and nursing staff.
  4. Capability to maintain composure and effectiveness in emergency situations.
  5. Skilled in data collection, sorting, and prioritization.
  6. Adept at processing intricate clinical information and responding appropriately.
  7. Willingness to learn new techniques and integrate them into nursing practice.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for an 8 or 12-hour shift.
  2. Must possess adequate hearing, vision, speech, and manual dexterity for effective communication and task completion.
  3. General health must allow for regular work hours.
  4. Capability to bend and lift 25-50 lbs. when assisting patients.
