Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our heavy equipment, including dump trucks, mixers, and other paving equipment. This is a traveling position, and the successful candidate will be required to integrate with our paving crews to assist with equipment maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to assist with repairs and diagnostics
  • Document and record work performed and parts used
  • Communicate with equipment operators to assess machine performance
  • Travel with paving crews to assist with equipment maintenance and repair
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the site superintendent or project manager
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair preferred
  • ASE certification and CDL certification preferred
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and random tests
  • Ability to pass a Dept. of Defense background screening
  • Safe driving record required
