Job Overview

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects related to the upkeep and repair of production machinery and facilities. Key priorities include managing and executing the established preventive maintenance program, analyzing issues, and interpreting technical data to facilitate necessary repairs. This role involves hands-on responsibilities, as the Maintenance Lead also serves as the primary maintenance technician.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure the operation and reliability of manufacturing infrastructure, including thermal oxidizers, air compressors, chillers, and boilers.
  • Identify and troubleshoot faulty operations across various production machinery and equipment.
  • Oversee electrical systems, diagnosing issues in apparatus such as transformers, motors, variable frequency drives, and PLCs.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance tasks, ensuring timely execution.
  • Monitor the workflow of maintenance requests from initiation to completion.
  • Collaborate with vendors to support equipment sustainability initiatives.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of external contractors.
  • Manage inventory levels for supplies, tools, and equipment, utilizing cost-effective methods.
  • Facilitate procurement requests by researching specifications, pricing, and vendor options.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of skilled maintenance technicians.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and equipment.
  • Document all maintenance activities accurately using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with CMMS or other ERP tools is preferred.
  • Adhere to safety protocols as outlined in safety programs or regulatory guidelines.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and training in industry-standard lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Strong understanding of variable frequency drives, PLCs, maintenance tools, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to design and fabricate equipment is a plus.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
