Job Overview

This role is responsible for providing exceptional vision care to patients, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish. As an Ophthalmic Care Specialist, you will work closely with ophthalmologists to provide chair-side assistance, perform diagnostic tests, and administer treatment as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional vision care to patients, enhancing their overall experience.
  • Greet patients, set expectations, and gather medical history and complaints.
  • Monitor patient flow, ensuring exam rooms are always full and patients are moving through the process efficiently.
  • Act as a scribe for the physician and escort patients to the front desk after their exam.
  • Review physician-generated instructions with patients and provide education materials as directed.
  • Ensure exam rooms are tidy and sanitized between patients, including cleaning sinks and sanitizing equipment.
  • Prepare for COA exams and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years' experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive team member with care and concern for others.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy.
