Ganymede is pioneering the development of a cutting-edge platform that bridges the gap between scientific research and software innovation, with a mission to revolutionize healthcare outcomes. We believe that the most effective way to accelerate science is through enhanced software and data connectivity.
As a Senior Data Automation Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of our efforts to drive scientific progress, working closely with scientists and engineers to identify key challenges and automate them using Ganymede's platform. You'll have significant autonomy to execute projects end-to-end and will apply your expertise in problem-solving, creativity, and technical skills to derive and implement solutions with real-world impact.
This role offers a unique blend of responsibilities:
- Client Advocate: Collaborate with client executives and users to define and prioritize problems, build a deep understanding of their lab instruments and scientific analysis, and then set up Ganymede's platform pipelines to automate these details.
- Software Developer: Work with fellow engineers to define the architecture needed for the Ganymede core platform, integrate our web backend and infrastructure into client systems, and develop applications to interact with biotech lab instrument hardware.
- Culture Ambassador: Contribute to shaping our company culture and help us grow and establish norms as we scale.
We're guided by four core principles:
- Improving lives through better medicine: We're intensely mission-focused on making a positive impact on society.
- Kindness: We strive to create an inclusive, empathetic work environment where every individual feels valued and respected.
- Transparency: As one team, we believe openness is essential for fairness and that our actions should align with our shared mission.
- Accountability: Trust is the foundation of our relationships, and we hold ourselves accountable to each other and our goals.
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- At least 2 years of full-time experience developing software or writing analytical code
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as clear, well-structured coding practices
- A strong engineering background, preferably in computer science, physics, or engineering
- Proficiency in analytical programming languages (e.g., Python, Mathematica, Julia)
- Hunger to learn and solve complex data problems with our team
- A passion for improving software infrastructure to advance healthcare and human welfare
- Authorization to work from the United States; preference given to candidates based in the Bay Area
- A willingness to travel approximately 10-15% of the time, concentrated in the US West
In addition to these requirements, having experience with external client-facing technical engagements, implementing numerical methods in a non-academic setting, or familiarity with software development for scientific instrumentation can be beneficial.
We offer a competitive salary range of $120K-$180K, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including unlimited PTO, sick days, excellent health insurance, life, and disability coverage, family leave, and a health and wellness stipend.
