Adjunct Professor of Physical Therapy

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Professor of Physical Therapy to join our team at Collin College. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to the college's core values, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field.

The ideal candidate will possess a current State of Texas issued Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license and have a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in physical therapy. Teaching experience is preferred, and industry teaching or technical experience is also desirable.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and following the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the Division faculty and administered by the associate dean/director. Teaching assignments may be on one or more of the college's campuses or off-site locations and may include evening and weekend programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current State of Texas issued Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in physical therapy
  • Teaching experience is preferred
  • Industry teaching or technical experience is also desirable

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

The successful candidate will be required to perform sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.

Employment Type:

This is a part-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work on a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation:

The successful candidate will be paid according to the Adjunct Faculty/CE Instructor Rates.
