As a vital member of the healthcare team at UTHealth Houston, the Neurotrauma Nurse Leader plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care within the Neurosurgery - Neurotrauma IMU/Floor. This full-time position operates on a schedule of 15 days per month from 6 am to 5 pm, ensuring comprehensive coverage for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary care provider for neurotrauma patients, overseeing their journey from admission to discharge.
  • Utilize a strong foundation in evidence-based practices to ensure adherence to critical care protocols, fostering a safe and high-quality care environment.
  • Exhibit advanced medical and nursing knowledge, demonstrating clinical competence and sound judgment in all patient interactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including attending physicians, to provide optimal care for patients in the Neuro Critical Care Unit.

Patient Care Focus:

In this role, you will monitor the neurological status of patients, identify signs of decline, and implement timely interventions. The Neurotrauma Nurse Leader will conduct complex patient care procedures that require specialized training, ensuring that all actions align with the highest standards of medical practice.
