As a Tax Intern, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team under the direct supervision of a Senior, Supervisor, or Manager. You will receive guidance and training to complete assignments and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the Tax practice.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Tax staff in performing tax compliance functions, including preparing federal and state corporate, individual, trusts and estates, and partnership returns.
- Provide and maintain proper documentation to support tax return calculations.
- Interact with client personnel regarding tax return information, deadlines, and status.
- Stay current on professional announcements and participate in continuing professional educational programs offered by Marcum.
- Develop relationships with client management teams and conduct yourself professionally as a representative of the Firm.
- Work beyond standard hours may be required, and minimal travel to client sites may be necessary.
Qualifications:
- Strong technology skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required. Experience with GoSystems Tax RS, ProSystem fx Tax, and ProSystem fx Engagement is a plus.
- Exhibit a strong desire to learn and a willingness to work under pressure to meet deadlines with accuracy.
- Excellent analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Ability to learn processes quickly and apply that knowledge to engagements.
- Flexibility and openness to work on a variety of assignments and multitask.
- Team player with a desire to be an active participant within the organization.
- Strong customer service approach focused on exceeding expectations in all areas.
- Candidates must have minimally completed their second year in pursuit of their Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
