Position Overview

Employment Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients. This includes administering therapies, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of a recognized Respiratory Care Program at the Registry Level.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Experience Requirements:

  • No prior work experience is necessary.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid Respiratory Care License from the Texas Medical Board.
  • Active status with the National Board for Respiratory Care, including compliance with the Continuing Competency Program (CCP).
  • New graduates must achieve CRT credentials and subsequently test for RRT credentials within one year of graduation. Failure to obtain RRT credentials will result in reassignment to a Respiratory Care Practitioner role until the credential is secured.
  • BLS certification is required prior to patient interaction.
  • ACLS certification must be completed within 90 days of employment.
  • PALS or ENPC certification is required within six months of employment.
  • NRP certification must be obtained within six months of employment.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in data entry and management using computer systems.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and compliant work environment in accordance with OSHA and NIOSH standards.
