About the Role

Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of preschool-aged students with communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized speech and language therapy to preschool-aged students under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address communication goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to integrate speech and language therapy into the classroom setting.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify communication needs and develop strategies for support.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and communication goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Science Disorders or related field.
  • 100 hours of clinical practicum supervised by a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Knowledge of Indiana and IPS special education policies, practices, and programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
