Responsibilities of a Certified Nursing Assistant

  • Deliver nursing care in post-acute care settings
  • Assist residents with daily living activities (ADLs) such as grooming and personal hygiene
  • Monitor vital signs and report any abnormalities to nursing staff
  • Support residents during meal times and assist with feeding as necessary
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment by changing linens and sanitizing surfaces
  • Observe residents continuously and report any concerns to healthcare professionals
  • Facilitate communication between residents, healthcare staff, and family members
  • Safely transport residents to and from various locations
  • Engage with residents to provide companionship and support

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and nursing care practices
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
