About the Position

Pond & Company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Peachtree Corners, GA. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of related experience and wants to grow, collaborate, and innovate. In this position, the successful candidate will perform power systems design for power, chemical, pharmaceutical, and process industry clients across the United States. The ideal candidate will have prior A&E experience and a background in consulting engineering. Projects will span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets related to design projects. We are seeking someone who can be an independent self-starter.

Experience and Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
  • PE preferred or anticipated.
  • 5 years of related experience at a A&E firm as a consulting design engineer. The successful candidate will be prepared to discuss prior design projects in detail.
  • Strong understanding of the NEC, electric power systems, protective relaying principles, and coordination methodologies
  • Experience with software such as SKM, ETAP, and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with communications protocols such as IEC61850, NDP3, and Modbus
  • Familiarity with load flow studies
  • Ability to perform relay coordination studies, short circuit studies, and arc flash analysis
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, possess a positive attitude, multi-task, and be self-motivated to produce high-quality work.
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong experience with software such as SKM, EasyPower, ETAP, CDEGS, AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM
  • Experience specifying medium and low voltage electrical equipment such as MCCs, switchgear, induction motors, synchronous motors (brushed/brushless), and VFDs
  • Ability to perform static and dynamic load flow studies
  • Comfortable managing client relationships, identifying changes in scope, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines

Additional Information

Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond & Company, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge, and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Electrical Engineer III with a salary range of $74,000 to $114,000.
