About the Position:

We are in search of a proactive and skilled Purchasing Manager to take charge of our procurement and inventory operations for our cement production facilities. In this crucial position, you will be instrumental in managing purchasing and warehousing functions. Your key tasks will involve crafting and negotiating agreements for goods and services, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, and pinpointing opportunities for process enhancements. You will also collaborate with parent companies, implement competitive bidding strategies, and innovate to optimize operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, develop, and negotiate agreements for goods and services.
  • Ensure adherence to purchasing agreements, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvements in procurement, contract management, supplier selection, and sourcing of materials.
  • Work closely with parent companies to leverage existing agreements and identify competitive goods and services.
  • Conduct competitive bidding and negotiate supply and service agreements.
  • Develop and implement procurement policies, processes, and strategic plans.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, and associated costs.
  • Drive initiatives for inventory reduction and perform analysis on inventory levels.
  • Establish and manage key performance indicators for procurement and inventory management.
  • Participate in annual budgeting with insights into maintenance costs and inventory management.
  • Provide financial projections and accruals in collaboration with the finance team.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with insurance requirements with support from the Purchasing Agent.
  • Support operational needs as required and undertake additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, or economics.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in procurement and contract management within a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and experience in personnel management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to foster relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and openness to change.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional certifications such as CPM, APP, CPP, or APIC.
