Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Clinical Nurse is responsible for delivering tailored, goal-oriented nursing care utilizing the nursing process and primary nursing principles, adhering to hospital policies and protocols.
This role involves caring for patients across various age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics, including end-of-life care. You will:
- Conduct thorough assessments and identify patient and family needs to ensure high-quality care.
- Perform admission evaluations promptly, ensuring compliance with unit standards.
- Review and acknowledge all medical directives for assigned patients.
- Document nursing diagnoses in the patient care plan without delay.
- Identify educational needs for patients and families upon admission.
- Develop and communicate a comprehensive care plan in collaboration with patients and their families.
Clinical Skills:
Demonstrate the necessary skills and judgment to implement medical care plans, nursing interventions, and procedures effectively. This includes:
- Administering medications while adhering to hospital protocols.
- Maintaining IV access and ensuring proper documentation of IV sites.
- Evaluating patient responses to care and adjusting plans as necessary.
Professional Development:
Act as a mentor for new and existing staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. You will:
- Encourage problem-solving among peers.
- Exhibit a constructive approach in all interactions with colleagues and leadership.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing; a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- A valid Registered Nurse license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong clinical skills, accountability, and effective communication abilities.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires medium work, including:
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent activities such as typing, reaching, and standing.
