Position Overview

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to contribute to our Land Development Group.

The Civil Project Engineer II/III role is designed for Civil Engineers with a minimum of two years of professional experience. The selected candidate will engage in site development engineering and project management for a range of residential, commercial, and mixed-use initiatives. Proficiency in site civil design, permitting processes, and relevant software tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential. The projects will encompass diverse land development site designs. In addition to technical expertise, responsibilities will include research, coordination, task management, and collaborative design efforts.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design project components utilizing relevant software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology
  • Execute calculations using engineering principles and methodologies, employing computer tools to resolve challenges
  • Develop specifications and material lists through thorough research and reference to manufacturing catalogs
  • Finalize design details and comprehensive plan sets
  • Conduct research and compile objective summary reports to support project completion or inspections
  • Assist in formulating engineering and construction cost estimates
  • Perform field observations, inspections, and data collection as directed by senior engineering personnel
  • Facilitate communication with client representatives and internal design teams as guided by senior staff

Qualifications of an ideal candidate include:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • A minimum of two to six years of experience in land development civil engineering; EIT certification is preferred
  • Proficient understanding of Autodesk Civil 3D is required
