Mammography Technologist II Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist II to join our team at Health Images. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and diagnostic exams relating to breast anatomy, breast ultrasound, and bone density to obtain high-quality images.
  • Interface with patients to gather medical history and provide clear instructions and explanations of procedures.
  • Provide patient education on breast self-examination and other relevant topics.
  • Review patient charts for missed clinical information and consent.
  • Screen patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, and other relevant factors.
  • Obtain prior imaging as needed and perform high-quality scans for submission to radiologists for interpretation.
  • Perform Bone Density, Breast Ultrasound, and Mammography exams while ensuring patient care and comfort.
  • Transfer images to other locations as needed.
  • Coordinate procedure protocols with radiologists.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment regularly, reporting any quality concerns or equipment failures.
  • Interface with lead technologists and center/area managers regarding departmental concerns.
Requirements:
  • Two plus years' experience in Mammography, Breast Ultrasound, and Bone Density.
  • Ability to educate patients on procedures and provide clear instructions.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a problem solver with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced team environment and exceed company and customer expectations.
Education and Certifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Registry in Mammography (M), Bone Densitometry (BD), and Breast Ultrasound (ARRT(BS) or ARDMS(BR)).
