Our Service team, consisting of over 500 technicians across the United States and Canada, is a key differentiator. Working at client facilities, our service specialists maintain, troubleshoot, and repair battery, engine-powered, and robotic Tennant products.
As a Service Equipment Specialist with Tennant, you will identify equipment issues and determine the necessary steps to restore functionality.
By delivering exceptional communication and craftsmanship to our clients, our Service Specialists are invaluable assets to Tennant Company.
A Day in the Life: Conduct preventative maintenance and tackle complex challenges by diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems, and combustion engine issues on customer-owned Tennant products and similar competitor models.
Manage your territory and organize your daily agenda, including reaching out to clients to schedule all service activities, ensuring clear communication regarding service expectations, timeline estimates, billing, and future service requirements.
Maintain comprehensive records of all service activities and business reporting documentation. Ensure cleanliness and organization of all Tennant Company property, including the company vehicle, tools, parts, inventory, and equipment. Adhere to all safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, customer service, technical support, field service assistance, and fellow technicians to enhance your success.
Experience a Day in the Life of a Service Professional at Tennant through an engaging video that showcases the challenges, achievements, and unique moments that drive our team forward.Required Experience and Education: High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver's license in accordance with Tennant Company driving policy.
Minimum of 3 years of experience:
Troubleshooting and repairing combustion engines (LP, Diesel, or Gas); diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems; utilizing hand and power shop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices.
Proficient in using a personal computer, MS Office Suite, and email.Preferred Experience: Vocational training in automotive/diesel/electrical; prior experience and knowledge of mobile equipment (forklifts, heavy machinery, etc.); experience working directly with clients.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 60 pounds, with most items weighing between 2 and 20 pounds. Occasionally, may need to lift items weighing up to 90 pounds, with assistance for items over 60 pounds. Frequent sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting is required daily. Driving a van to and from client sites daily, including frequent driving periods of over 2 hours.
