Position Overview
The Animal Care Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical care to our patients while fostering strong relationships with their owners. This position involves conducting thorough examinations, performing surgical procedures, and providing dental care, all while prioritizing effective communication and education for pet owners.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a trusting relationship with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and perform medical, surgical, and dental procedures with a focus on minimizing stress for the animals.
  • Clearly communicate examination results and diagnoses to clients, presenting tailored treatment plans and educating them on preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date in accordance with established protocols.
  • Stay informed about advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
  • Support the development of the veterinary support team to enhance the quality of care and client service.
  • Represent the hospital positively within the professional community and to the public.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid veterinary license in good standing.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance, with strong interpersonal skills and a friendly attitude.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Respectful and compassionate approach to working with clients and their pets.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of veterinary practice and ethics.
  • Experience in surgical procedures is advantageous.
