Environmental Services Aide

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Aide to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As an Environmental Services Aide, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain assigned areas in a clean and aseptic manner, adhering to all current Joint Commission/CMS regulations.
- Operate environmental services equipment, including dust mop, wet mop, bucket, and wringer, spray bottles, and dustpan.
- Assist with restocking of cafe and bar, as needed.
- Participate in special cleaning projects and room turnover.
- Follow all current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility.
- Ability to read, write, and speak/understand verbal communication in English to follow instructions and perform daily tasks.
- Basic knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning, and cleaning equipment/supplies.
- Ability to work flexible schedules when needed.
- Ability to listen and take direction, completing job tasks with minimal supervision.
The physical essential functions of this job include frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects, occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Due to the nature of the job, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
