Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asphalt Paving Supervisor to join our team at Helena Sand and Gravel. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our asphalt paving crew, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the asphalt paving crew, including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and quality control.
  • Work closely with project managers and estimators to develop project schedules and updates.
  • Participate in project meetings with contracting agencies and customers to ensure that project goals and objectives are met.
  • Interface daily with job forepersons to review project progress, address any issues or concerns, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve crew productivity, efficiency, and quality of work.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as estimating and accounting, to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, including time sheets, equipment maintenance records, and quality control reports.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in asphalt paving operations, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with crew members, project managers, and customers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, with regular exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and physical demands.
