Career Services Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Career Services Specialist to join our team at the Office for Career Development. As a key member of our team, you will work directly with undergraduate students to provide career coaching support and develop professional development workshops in collaboration with departments and other members of the campus community.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide career enrichment support for undergraduate students relating to career exploration, internship, and job search strategies, navigating the graduate/professional school application process, education abroad, research, and referral to available campus resources.
  • Design and implement in conjunction with the Director's monthly workshop and event offerings, collaborating with departments to strategically provide professional development programming/workshops in line with department goals.
  • Manage all aspects of the College of Health and Human Development Alumni Mentoring Program, including student and alumni mentor recruitment, development of marketing materials, matching mentors and mentees, and ongoing communication with student and alumni participants.
  • Foster strategic relationships with recruiters and employers in connection with the Central Career Services Employer Engagement office, collaborating with employers to identify opportunities to connect with current HHD student organizations, participate in career fairs, and develop a presence via information sessions and/or workshops.
Requirements:
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree plus one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, alumni, and employers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $46,300.00 to $67,300.00, depending on experience.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
  • Generous vacation time (24 days per year) and sick time (12 days a year).
