NICU Nurse Job Description

Tridant Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled NICU Nurse to join our team in Torrance, California. As a NICU Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to premature, injured, or ill newborns in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with specialists to ensure each patient's care plan meets their specific needs and is communicated clearly to the team.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and other activity.
  • Attend births and perform checks on newborns, including APGAR tests, measuring them, and watching for a range of symptoms and congenital conditions.
  • Document patients' treatment and any observations made.
  • Operate and maintain specialist equipment in the NICU or HDU.
  • Help parents to care for their baby, offering advice on feeding and sleeping, and signposting further sources of information.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in neonatal care and treatment.
Requirements:
  • NRP certification.
  • A valid nursing certificate, BSN, or MSN degree from an accredited college or university.
  • The appropriate license to work in their state/county.
  • Current vaccinations and a lack of communicable diseases that might endanger patients with compromised immune systems.
  • Proven work experience as a NICU Nurse or similar role.
  • Needs to have at least 12 months of relevant consecutive acute care experience in this specialty.
  • The ability to offer emotional support to parents, guardians, and family members.
  • Working knowledge of NICU specialized equipment.
  • Expertise in working with a team.
  • Exceptional ability to offer comfort to ill newborns.
  • Relevant training and/or certifications as a NICU Nurse.
  • Strong organizational abilities and good communication skills.
  • Fluency in the English Language.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Location and Hours:

Torrance, California. Shifts - Days and Nights available.

Compensation:

$95,000-129,000 Annually.
