Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Innovetive Petcare. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch medical attention to our furry patients and exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Assist in physical examinations, vaccinations, and wellness checks. Monitor and record vital signs and health status of animals during procedures. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians. Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including wound management and fluid therapy.
  • Diagnostic Procedures: Collect and prepare samples for laboratory analysis (blood, urine, fecal, etc.). Perform diagnostic imaging (radiographs, ultrasounds) and assist in interpretation. Conduct in-house laboratory tests and maintain accurate records.
  • Surgical Assistance: Prepare animals and surgical equipment for surgery. Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment. Monitor anesthesia and post-operative recovery of patients.
  • Client Interaction: Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and preventive health. Handle client inquiries and maintain clear communication about treatment plans. Assist with scheduling appointments and managing client records.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas, surgical suites, and exam rooms. Sterilize instruments and equipment according to protocols. Manage inventory of medical supplies and medications.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED required, relevant course work and completion of an accredited 2 to 4 year Veterinary Technology Program, preferred
  • Valid Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) certification and state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) preferred
  • Previous experience as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting is required. Ideal candidate will have at least one year's experience as a surgery technician
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is a plus
