Job SummaryThe Veterinary Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the medical team at Big Creek Animal Hospital. This role involves assisting with daily clinic duties, providing patient care, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a genuine passion for animal care.
Responsibilities- Assist with daily clinic duties, including laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, and dental procedures.
- Provide patient care under the direction of a veterinarian, including administering medications, taking vital signs, and monitoring patient conditions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and test results.
- Communicate effectively with clients, answering questions, and providing education on animal care and health.
- Participate in special cleaning duties and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; veterinary experience preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and support staff.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
