Position Overview

Martin/Martin Consulting Engineers is in search of a skilled structural engineer to enhance our team. This role offers the chance to engage in structural design for a variety of projects across different sectors, including healthcare, commercial, sports, and residential developments.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment in the assessment, selection, and application of established structural design methodologies and standards. This role involves ensuring quality control through meticulous verification of calculations and documentation while adhering to project timelines and budget constraints. The Project Engineer will oversee projects from initial design stages through to construction, fostering strong relationships with clients through effective communication and high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical staff to generate superior project documentation utilizing advanced design and graphics software.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff on career growth, design practices, software, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Develop, track, and manage project work plans, timelines, and financial budgets.
  • Establish enduring client relationships through project execution and business development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Proven capability to take responsible charge of engineering projects.
  • A minimum of 12 months experience as a Professional Engineer and 6 years of progressive engineering experience (advanced degrees and passing relevant exams may count towards experience).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing multiple projects from design inception to construction completion.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, regulatory bodies, and team members.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in relevant professional organizations.
  • Demonstrated willingness to accept additional responsibilities and tasks.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Professional Engineer, with successful completion of the structural engineering examination.
