Job Title: Retail Sales Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our team at New Kawaii, a unique toys and games store and community space in Irvington, NY.

Job Summary:

The Retail Sales Associate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, promoting an overall positive experience, and being an enthusiastic guide for our customers. This role requires a "kid at heart" attitude, with a love for toys, board games, and geek knowledge/trivia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and connect with store customers and event guests
  • Increase customer satisfaction and loyalty through exceptional customer service, product knowledge, and appropriate suggestions
  • Become knowledgeable in all products offered, and in upcoming events, promotions, etc.
  • As an ambassador of the store brand, maintain and demonstrate the company's values at all times
  • Reset tables and ensure event spaces are clean and organized
  • Complete sales transactions, perform basic math computations when needed
  • Answer phone, respond to customer and guest inquiries
  • Prepare the store for openings and closings, and maintain store appearance and product organization and availability throughout the day
Requirements:
  • Good communication skills
  • Interest in managing events/guest experiences
  • Skilled at instilling a positive atmosphere/creating a positive vibe
  • "Kid at heart" attitude, with a love for toys, board games, and geek knowledge/trivia
  • Quick study as it relates to learning new games, operating toys, etc.
  • Action-oriented and goal-driven
  • Open to feedback
  • Enjoys working in a team environment and achieving goals together
  • Ability to use technology efficiently
  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to assist customers in all areas of the store, including carrying items between levels via stairs
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs between retail spaces and second-floor office as necessary
  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 50lbs
  • Ability to move furniture (with assistance of others, as needed)
