We're looking for an experienced Paramedic with a passion for teaching and mentoring to deliver high-quality education to our students. As a Paramedic Educator, you'll have the opportunity to share your expertise and make a positive impact on the next generation of emergency medical services professionals.



About the Job

This is a part-time opportunity, with a competitive salary range of $35.00 per hour, depending on the class being instructed. As a Paramedic Educator, you'll be responsible for teaching and evaluating students in various EMS courses, including EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, and standardized courses. You'll also be required to maintain accurate documentation of student performance, evaluate students in all three domains, and present content for each course.



Essential Responsibilities

As a Paramedic Educator, your essential responsibilities will include:




  • Ensuring that practice and theory are current according to national standards and current evidence-informed practice.
  • Serving as an instructor/facilitator in skill labs and patient care scenarios using program-established teaching, evaluation, and testing tools.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of student performance.
  • Evaluating students in all three domains (cognitive, psychomotor, and affective) and providing feedback to students as appropriate.
  • Presenting content for each course as mutually established with the Program Manager.
  • Supervising students in the clinical areas as scheduled in conjunction with the Clinical Coordinator.
  • Remain current with State and local EMS requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintaining Instructor status for standardized courses as mutually agreed upon.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships within the organization based on experience and feedback obtained.
  • Utilizing tact and appropriate problem-solving process when dealing with issues identified.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:




  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a field/clinical setting as a Paramedic.
  • Experience as an adjunct instructor is preferred.
  • An Associate degree is preferred.
  • Completion of an approved Instructor course is preferred, specifics as required by local governing authority.
