Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Walgreens. As a Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting our pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of prescription dispensing, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including reviewing and verifying patient information, counting and pouring medications, and checking for potential interactions.
  • Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with patients and resolving any issues or concerns they may have.
  • Develop strong relationships with patients and healthcare providers, promoting a positive and supportive environment.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
  • Participate in training and development programs to maintain and enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico)
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience with Walgreens
  • Good math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications)
  • Basic level PC skills (starting and shutting down computer, using mouse to point and click, starting and closing programs, etc.)
  • Knowledge of store inventory control
