Job Summary

The Phlebotomy Specialist is responsible for collecting patient specimens from clinic patients in accordance with established procedures. This role involves distributing specimens to appropriate areas within the laboratory and performing general clerical duties.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Wisconsin Background Study upon hire and renewed per Wisconsin state law
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduated from an accredited phlebotomy program
  • Six (6) months of phlebotomy experience
  • Certification as a phlebotomist
Key Responsibilities
  • Collect patient specimens in accordance with established procedures
  • Distribute specimens to appropriate areas within the laboratory
  • Perform general clerical duties
Requirements
  • Ability to accurately collect and process lab specimens
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete records
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with regard to patient information
Working Conditions

Regularly exposed to risk of blood borne diseases. Exposed to reagents used in laboratory testing; may be exposed to/occasionally exposed to unpleasant patient elements. Exposed to hazards from electrical and mechanical equipment.
