Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Simulation Engineer to join our dynamic team.

This role involves conducting intricate structural simulations of power systems to assess the durability and reliability of engine, transmission, lower powertrain, and driveline designs. As a key contributor to complex projects, you will enhance Caterpillar's product performance and quality. This position represents a pivotal journey level for engineering functions, requiring extensive expertise in one or more technical domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced structural simulations to evaluate the acceptability of various power system designs.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve engineering challenges, establishing yourself as a recognized expert in your field.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver technical solutions.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science, Aero-Astronautics Engineering, or a closely related discipline, along with:

  • 5 years of experience in linear and nonlinear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and structural simulation of mechanical systems.

Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in the aforementioned fields with 2 years of relevant experience will be considered. Additionally, candidates must possess:

  • 1 year of experience with Creo or similar CAD software.
  • Proficiency in Abaqus and Hypermesh.
  • Experience in fatigue life calculations and simulating bolted joints and welded structures.
